Macbeth Essay

             William Shakespeare's tragedy, "Macbeth", is a very exciting story containing murder and mayhem. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are both plan murder and execute their plans. Macbeth is a noble man of Scotland. He is also a brave soldier who fights for the King Duncan without mercy but his strive for ambition and his curious nature leads him to the witches who give him a prophecy. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are both possess greedy and ambitious. They love each and together commit the most dreadful murder of King Duncan. Along the plots of the play, compare and contrast the characters of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth.
             In the beginning, Banquo, is a Macbeth' good friend realizes that there must be a
             trick hidden in the witches' prophecies somewhere but Macbeth refuses to accept that. When Lady Macbeth finds out about the witches' prophecy that Macbeth will be king, her strong desire for ambition and her cold nature leads Macbeth astray. Macbeth is a little ambitious at first, but Lady Macbeth' far exceeds his desire and so she is able to get Macbeth to agree to kill King Duncan. Macbeth still has a conscience at this stage, is very hesitant to kill the king but his weak nature overcomes him. The evident in act I, scene three. Macbeth says, "I Am Thane of Cawdor: If good, why do I yield to that suggestion whose Horrid image doth unfix my hair and make my seated heart knock at my ribs, against the use of nature?" Macbeth explains that the thought of killing Duncan
             makes him very nervous and frightened. Lady Macbeth does not want to hear any of this and accused Macbeth of not being a man. After she reads the letter from Macbeth prays to the evil spirits to "Fill me from the crown to the toe-top full of direst cruelty!"
