             It's two in the morning and you are fast asleep after a long day of work. While you lie in bed your car in front of your house, in the parking lot, or parked down the street or even in your drive way has just turned on. It's not the tooth fairy behind the wheel, but some person fueled by a number of reasons. Five hours later when walk out to your car you slip into frenzy. You know you left your car there in that vacant spot, but you aren't sure. You ask yourself maybe I left it down the street or around the corner. Many explanations race thru your mind. Finally you come to reality it's gone and so is the thief. So now your day is delayed and the police tell you many stolen cars are not recovered. Unfortunately many people do not realize that someday that could be them. People are not aware of the issues that are associated with the theft of Acura Integras and Honda Civics in the Washington DC metro area.
             Unfortunately the two vehicles are stolen in the Washington metro area frequently and the frequency is rising. Movies such as Gone in 60 seconds depicted Car thieves' knowledge and choice of cars. For many local viewers who accepted the film as reality would be shocked to know the whole story. In the film the cars targeted are all high-end cars such as Ferrari, Porsche, Mercedes Benz, and Lamborghini. The thieves were also shown as being equipped with the highest technology to by pass alarms and to steal the cars. Here in the metro area there is a number of those cars but their chances of being stolen is very low. Instead cars such as Acura Integra and Honda Civic are being stolen everyday. One reason for the sudden increase is the emergence of street racers. Many racing enthusiasts and their copycats have adopted the Acura Integra and Honda Civic as their choice cars.
