Robin Hood of Loxley

             Robin Hood of Loxley, Warwickshire was born in Loxley in 1160. Robin was also named Robert Fitzodo. Robin could have been the son of Earl of Huntingdon. Loxley is located in the district of Hamllamshire, which is not in existence anymore. During the reign of Henry II and Richard I, a knight named Robert Fitzodo. Then from documents it said he died, but other documents said that he was alive living nearby Huntingdon. It is said that he was the earl of Huntingdon. It is said that Robin Hood lived in the manor of Hilderstone. In some stories he is said to have been married to a lady named Matilda, also known as Maid Marian in some Elizabethan plays. He robbed and killed those who represented the power of the government and the church and he helped the cause of the needy and sick. His group included Little John, Will Scarlet, and Friar Tuck during his time.
             Robin Hood was also known as Robin of Wakefield. He was involved in a couple of rebellions with King Edward II that was lead by Lancaster in 1322. He was caught, sent away to a remote island, but then later forgiven by Edward later.
             Another form of Robin Hood was an outlaw yeoman. A yeoman is a member of the middle class. This Robin was said to be an earl. In two plays he was Earl of Huntingdon. He was also named Earl David. The Earl of Huntingdon was a helper of Young Henry's Rebellion of 1174. He married Maud, another form of Matilda. Matilda was the granddaughter of an Earl of Chester. When he died Matilda and David's son became the Earl of Chester and Huntingdon.
             Then there was an outlaw named Robin Hood, but was spelt Robert Hood. He was a servant of the Abbot of Cirencester. Sometime between 1213 and 1216, he murdered a man named Ralph in the abbot's garden.
             Another was Robyn Hood who was a porter for the king. He was then later laid off cause he wasn't able to do work anymore. This Robin Hood was said to be Robyn Hood was the same as Robert Hood, a tenan...
