The origin of the human species is a topic of great controversy. One side is that of the Creationists. They explain that a higher power is responsible for the formation of our planet and the origin of life. Creationism is based upon the Bible. It explains that the world was created in seven days after which God created life. God, the all mighty, created the first two humans, cast them out of paradise because of their sinful nature, and condemned them to begin human life on earth. On the other side of the issue, evolutionists claim that over a period of millions of years and through a process of trial and error, organisms started very simple and slowly became more complex. Thus, humans came into existence. Evolution is a theory that every animal and organism is linked together by a common progressive ancestor. These two theories have been disputed for over a century. A new theory has recently emerged and is gaining appreciation from the younger members of the church. This new theory is called Scientific Creationism. The theory's basic principles combine the theories of creation and evolution to find common ground. Despite evolutionary scientists who are unrelenting on the stance of evolution, Intelligent Design has recently taken the place of creationism as one of the two theories that are more commonly disputed. I believe that the evidence speaks for itself. This topic interests me because the evidence for each theory is based upon two very different sources, one being physical evidence and the other being the Bible.
