Nationalism vs Internationalissm
To what extent should nations cooperate?"It is through cooperation, rather than conflict, that your greatest successes will be derived." -- Ralph Charell. This quote is tied to the question of to what extent nations should cooperate with one another? Whether a nation that is nationalistic or that which is internationalist better meets the needs of the people, allows more self-determination, is better equipped to defend, better treats minorities, better solves conflicts with other nations, has more social justice and which has a better quality and standard of living. Nations who are internationalist tend to be much more cooperative and more willing to share and trade with other nations. They also are concerned with establishing harmony and peace throughout the world and have policies that promote loyalty to mankind, not just the people. Since multilateral nations tend to seek resolutions using diplomacy this often makes them futile and it encourages extremism. Yet it may also avoid conflicts therefore building partnerships of understanding. A goal of internationalists is to stabilize and neutralize extremist factor that may compromise sovereignty of nations.
Nationalist nations do not allow self-determination. The laws made denied citizenship to Jews, outlawed intermarriage, Jews were outlawed from military and "Juden Verboten" signs were erected in towns. In 1965 UNICEF was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize "for the promotion of brotherhood among nations. In such a pure nation there is often ultra-nationalist aggressors (elitists) with cultural integrity in mind that often discriminate against the minority groups. Internationalist nations are also successful when it comes to solving conflicts between nations. UNICEF was created by the United Nations in 1946 after WWII and was aimed to help children living in poverty in developing countries. For example Adolf Hitler who was the founder and leader of the Nazi party in Germany and was outraged by the loss of territory and the enormous war guilt payments due to the treaty of Versailles and he used this to gain the support of the German people. There was damage done to areas of Vietnam and many were left distraught after the death of loved ones. Internationalist agreement lead to greater economic status in countries and a higher quality and standarf of life. This book was published later on and wrote about how his culture the German Aryans were the superiors and Jewish, Muslim, African American and all other cultures were seen as having "alien blood" and being racially distinctive. 1 million in emergency assistance to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to aid refugees in Africa and throughout the world.
