Violence in sports can incorporate or be influenced by a wide range of activities, from
trash talking- to unruly fan behavior to deliberate physical assaults to fighting.
Athetles have become a major part of society not only in the United States but in other countries around the globe . Athletics play an important role in shaping our charaters and our values. While most athletes do this in a positive way there is a percentage that have a negative effect on people lives.

necessarily the guys playing the game. The fans that came to watch can also have an effect on
society. Sale of alcohol, encouraging crowd intensity, creating rivalries, and targeting social
groups, are factors affecting the degree of spectator violence and can be proven to be
influenced by the owner's actions. Therefore the blame for spectator violence can be brought
about to whoever has power over the sport. Many historians tend to believe that an increase in
spectator violence coincides with the commerciallization of sports. Also drinking beer has been
part of the sports scence since the late 1870's.
