Hadith in Islam

This article tries to show how the Hadith literature has been influenced by the ideas spreading at the different times, and how it changes to adapt the new doctrine and the changing circumstances. Due to this changes acquired by the Hadith, the nature of Hadith has changed from becoming the legal sunnah and action of the prophet to becoming an eyewitness on history during its various changes, thus serving as a reflection of the political tendencies and struggles that appeared in the community during the different stages of its development, and the forming of the d

The first question is ‘how the Hadith literature was affected with the political life and how it changes its nature from being a way to record the prophets actions to becoming a vital tool in the political disputes?’ The second question is how much can the Hadith serve as a history book eye witnessing the different events at that time.

Two recurring question runs under the surface of modern discussions of Hadith. Tradition is in conflict with custom.

Introduction

For Muslims, Hadith enshrines the custom and practice of the old Muhammadan community, to prove a certain act was performed by the prophet and was therefore to be carried on by all the pious believers, it follows that Hadith and sunnah are sometimes names for one and the same thing.

Thinking-Rethinking Hadith…These political ideas didn’t were not all forged but it had some roots and bases in the time of the prophet, and the idea was altered to fit the new circumstances and inclination. We will try to show the link between Hadith and politics; the use of Hadith as a political campaign; to prove legitimacy. The nature of the saying of the prophet naturally led them to preserve and repeat his sayings on all subjects. However this is not the only meaning of Hadith. , and in other times reflecting the political environment and psychological feeling during this time. Through a deft examination of the literature it appears that a number of Hadith was fabricated by the different political parties existing at that time, using the Hadith as a vital tool to prove their points and support their position. Anas was an authority both on custom law (Sunnah) and on oral tradition (Hadith).
