No matter what thereasons are, there is an obvious increase in the free man which is in addition anotherprogress of Wethersfield. As the nationclaimed its independence, more opportunities arose for men to take part in theircommunities and have a say as to how the government would work. The wealthiest people towards the end of the18th century had been making more money than the elite class of 1756. While the leaders of the rebellion against Britain were constantlymeeting in search of the perfect form of government and representation, Wethersfield hadbeen making its own advances in democracy.
