Wethersfield Connecticut
The United States is a country which developed its advancement of democracy instages. One can say that some areas were more highly evolved than others, however atsome point in time the regions and states lacking in the proper balance between freedomand authority would learn from those that were better developed. The town ofWethersfield, Connecticut is a paragon that portrays how one town may be moreconstitutionally focused in some ways than others, which paved the way for the remaininglands to improve and alter their laws, rules and freedoms to further the nation to a well A Democracy can be explained as a system with equality of opportunity. In thisform of democracy, every citizen of the country has the same chances at acquiring themost benefits for himself, no matter what they be. In the small community ofWethersfield, Connecticut, there are many progressions in democracy. For example, manyof the residencies were equal in size, however there is a difference in tax payment. Theassumption is made that those who pay more are the people who might have moreproperty in addition to the house itself.(Document E). Those who have more property areusually those people who are wealthier.
However, it is possible that it is one of the very fewareas who had these perceptions and ideas. A man by thename of Jared Ingersoll was a man that was selected to be the one who would collect themoney from these people. Helistened to what they had said, agreed and subverted the tax. Therefore, although the rules they had createdmight not have been so perfect, they were a step closer to the future of the new nation. These men wereexcited and anxious about the future of the nation and by becoming active, they werevoicing their opinions as they voted. This increase shows an expansion of chances for people to make more money. Although it is true that this city hadbecome highly evolved and created laws and theories which might seem democratic, theentire country cannot be compared to this minor area. Therefore, it is shown that the affluent people areactually paying more taxes than the less wealthy. No matter what thereasons are, there is an obvious increase in the free man which is in addition anotherprogress of Wethersfield. As the nationclaimed its independence, more opportunities arose for men to take part in theircommunities and have a say as to how the government would work. The wealthiest people towards the end of the18th century had been making more money than the elite class of 1756. While the leaders of the rebellion against Britain were constantlymeeting in search of the perfect form of government and representation, Wethersfield hadbeen making its own advances in democracy. Among many of the objections that the colonists had, the Stamp Act caused manyoutbursts.
