Braveheart
In the Beginning of the movie William asks his father if he can go with him to a battle. His father says no and William says “I know how to fight”. This is where his father tells him that he might be able to fight, but he wont be a man until he can learn to use his head first. This is the advice his father gives him. Wallace kills the magistrate and all the British guards at his home town. Other clans here of this news and they are forced to join Wallace’s army, because if they don’t the English will just slaughter them all as they ride through to stomp out this little up rise. Wallace won the war when he won the princess’s heart. He impregnated her so that the heir to the throne was of Scottish descent. The princess fell for Wallace, this was a very fortunate thing for the Scottish. Wallace secured his victory of the war by defeating the English in one last battle, which he could not fight because he was dead. . . .
Wallace infers that Bruce is saying that the nobles were more important than the common man that works the field or fights a battle. Bruce says “you have bled with Wallace. He wanted to motivate the army to fight like they had fought for William Wallace. He united the pitiful clans of Scotland and made a magnificent army. Wallace has been married, he is a scholar, he charms the Princess of Whales, he leads an army into battle and emerges victorious on more than one occasion, he has lived a pretty good life for a man of that time period. When Wallace is in captivity in an English dungeon the princess comes to see him. But if they hadn’t died that day, they could say that they were out-matched and out-numbered and they weren’t a trained army but they stood up to the tyrant who claimed right to their freedom. C) The Message In the first battle scene where the Scottish stood an attack from the English heavy cavalry William Wallace spoke to the Scottish army and told them that if they ran away from the war, then they might live. At the very end of the movie Robert the Bruce who is now King of Scotland fights in the last battle of the movie. And that should be better then dying on a sick-bed cold and confused. This really motivates the army, it even angers them because Wallace was tortured and executed not too long before this. Wallace says that every man dies, but not every man really lives. He makes a remark about the nobles position and how they should provide those people with freedom, and by Wallace saying “and i go to make sure they have it” means that he would probably get rid of any nobleman who wasn’t with him in giving his country freedom. He not only gave the men, women, and children of Scotland freedom, but he gave them the will to fight for it and speak as one when the face of tyranny roars out.
