The renaissance was a time of rebirth. It was not only a rebirth economically, socially, and scientifically, but also for the arts. Michelangelo was one of the great artists that captured the Renaissance through art. He captured the Renaissance in an art piece named "Ancestors of Christ: figures" (detail).              The painting was done in 1511 in Cappella, Vatican. The painting is assumed to represent salmon, as Emil Kren stated. This has another meaning besides the fish. It can also mean the change from war to peace. The child represents sanctity. It also represents holiness, and peacefulness of the Renaissance. The reason that Michelangelo may created this because the middle ages were a dark age with barbaric attacks and the fear of the war at all times. It then integrated to the new, inventive Renaissance that brighten everyone and let and let him or her come home out of their dark times in the middle ages and become more than the average day person. The painting is symbolic to the renaissance because it shows that life is more serene and calm, and enjoyable.
