Offense

The dictionary defines offense as “the means and tactics used in attempting to score against an opponent.” Some of the most effective offenses in football are the T-formation, the I-formation, and the split-back offense. These three run formations are just some of the strategies used to pick apart defenses and score points. In order for the offense to score points, they need to run the football.

(TS) The T-formation is very effective and gives you an advantage over defenses. (CD) In the T-formation offense, there are three backs lined up behind the quarterback to work with. (CD) A quarterback can also send his backs out as receivers. (CM) One or two of the back

(CS) The split-back offense is a very dangerous run and passing game which is very effective. (CD) There are two running backs lined up, one behind the other in this offense. (CM) The tailback also has the option of going inside or outside of the block to rush to the end zone. (CM) A quarterback has time to sit in the pocket and locate an open receiver to throw to.

(TS) Another effective offense that will give you an advantage over the defense is the I-formation. (CD) the two running backs are split behind the quarterback who has three options: keep it, hand the ball off to the lead back, or pitch the ball to the tailback. (CM) The quarterback has a good view of the field so he can find a whole to run through if no receivers are open. (CM) A fullback should take on the defensive end or linebacker for a big gain by the tailback. (CM) This gives the quarterback several options and will let him pick apart the defense. s can stay behind to block while the other runs a pass route. (CM) This formation gives the running backs time to decide which way they will cut and the defense little time to react. (CD) If the quarterback decides to pass, he has two running backs to take on blocks. (CS) The I-formation offense is key to mixing up the pace of the game and tiring the defense. (CM) This offense allows for the straight ahead attack where they can run the ball up the other teams gut.
