             Gangs: A Young Person's Adoption to family
             The problem of gang activity is not a new one facing our country's youth today. Ever since the beginning of human existence, gangs have served as a means of protection for humans throughout society. However, gang activity has recently come to the forefront of many dilemmas facing our nation today. For instance, many crimes and drug activities in many communities are heavily associated with gangs. While cities such as Chicago and Los Angeles have always been known for their chronic amount of gang activity, gangs have spread rapidly throughout this country. Consequently, this has lead to an enormous amount of teenage youth getting involved in gangs for reasons that vary. One of the most notable reasons why kids get involve in gangs is that gangs offer kids a sense of belonging which many of them lack at home. However, to fully understand reasons such as this why kids join gangs, we must look deep into what is a gang and why is it a home for many kids who do and don't have one.
             A gang can be defined as a group whom are generally perceived as a distinct aggregation by others in their neighborhoods, recognize themselves as a denotable group and have been involved in a sufficient number of delinquent incidents to all forth a consistent negative response from neighborhood residence and enforcements agencies. In simplest terms this means, that a gang is a group of males or females who often commit foolish crimes that generally damage society. Most gang members are rebels of society, who follow their own rules and live life dangerously. However, despite the foolish crimes and dangerous lifestyle many gangs serve as a family to kids.
