Acceptance for college
It is of utmost importance for a student in today's society to attend a college of some sort. Many companies and major contenders in today's world will not consider hiring a person lacking a college education. A vast majority of the students graduating high school every year lack the funds necessary to attend college. Many of these students apply for scholarships so they can receive their college education. Some students are more deserving than others are. I am one of those students who deserve a college scholarship. School is a tough obstacle to overcome, but I am conquering it remarkably well. For the last four years of high school I have been ranked in the top 10% of my graduating class. I am a member of the T.A.G. (Talented and Gifted)
I want to do something that will make a positive impact on the world. My composite ACT score is 28, which ranks me in the 93rd percentile. I would like to thank you for actually reading my letter this far. I have taken eight science courses are Lafayette High School, all of which are on the honors level. My peak score on the ACT was my reading in which I scored a 30. My mother will not be able to able to aid me with my college expenses because she has expenses of her own. I plan to major in an area that involves a science of some sort, possibly computer science. I have yet to make a definite decision on where I will go to college, but it will be somewhere that pushes me to use my full potential. I have held a job for three years of my high school career, but I have not been able to start any type of college savings. College is a big step for me and I want to get everything I can out of the experience. The only real form of income that could put me through college is my 15-hour per week job. I have excelled in every subject area; particularly science. I want to be pushed to the extent of my capabilities. I have never received a grade lower than an A- in any science course I have taken.
