Signs of the Holy Church

Since the Church is a mystery we use images are used in order for us to understand it better. Three of the most important images are; People of God; Body of God &; Temple of God. In the next few paragraphs I will summarize each of these images. The People of God begins with its roots in the Old Covenant. God didn't want to sanctify and save people part of a loving and caring community. God's teachings to the Israelites prepared them for the new People of God formed in Jesus' sacrifice. This new covenant is made up by everyone who wishes to be part of a unity in the Holy Spirit. We enter the People of God by baptism and faith, our faith that we belong to God. Jesus is the head; he gives us the privilege to live the law of love and guides us to the kingdom of God on earth. Because we are members of the Lord's community we all share the Lords ministries. These enable God's people to become true missionaries. The Holy Spirit is out Helper & with his gifts the Lord sends us into the worl

We not only become one we become the Body of Christ by taking the body & blood of Christ at our Mass. As we know the head is Christ and the body is us, the members of the Church, and the Church itself. Through the Holy Spirit Jesus & his disciples become one. This is very similar to the Church, the Holy Spirit being present in the Church at all times. Through this sacrament we are "Christ's body, and individually parts of it. We believe that Christ is living in us and we are living in him. These implications are the following; The Lord is present is us we are his instrument to preach good news of salvation, the forgiveness of sins, and eternal life, and we are his way to tough the unfortunate; Baptism is what integrates us into Christ's body. Because of the Holy Spirit's ever-presence in the Church we got the name 'Temple of the Holy Spirit'; with a little bit of our help the unity in the Church flows from the unity of God. As we were taught, the Spirit lives within us, within us forever. He uses the scriptures, sacraments, graces, virtues, and charisms given to us, in which all of these are under the control of Church Leaders and are used only for the common good. That mission of the Church can be accomplished with these four aspects; Message (announcing the good news of salvation), Community (people living together sharing faith, hope, and love), Service (To serve others to carry the point out that Jesus was our servant), and Worship (Praising God in the loving way we should). The Holy Spirit uses the Church to bring about God's saving works. The Holy Spirit gives life, like in the breath, unites, sanctifies, and builds up the Body of Christ. " When becoming a member of the Body of Christ there are special, in a way, rules to abide and believe in with God.
