             Thoreau states nicely why books are our treasures and continue to be with each generation. They are our doors to knowledge; fill in the empty holes in our minds. The authors of books can reveal many significant messages about various topics and can influence the way we see things. There are many variety of subject books that can teach us and help us use the information in the world. They are the riches that are passed down from generation to generation that teach about who we were before and who we are now.
             There are those that are born into families of poverty, and don't get the chance to succeed because they arent able to get the right education. No matter from what side of the block you come from the access to a book is always available. There are free libraries that have been established in order to assist people with reading. The fact is no matter what type of book you read, you still gain information. That person who is poor can still obtain information from books on their own. Where there is a leak in a mind, a book can fill it. It provides us the hope to succeed. Take for example, the young girl in New York City who was in harsh poverty conditions, and is now a student studying in Harvard. Her case is publicly known, and a film has been made. During the tough times she always had a book in her hands.
             It is the author of a book that provides empty pages with important information. Without a person writing there would be no such thing as a book. Writers do their research before writing a book, and the resources that they use are written by other writers. Books and reading material in general help writers write, and us learn.
