By using this specific simile, Shakira suggests that she is a “good girl” that was taught superior manners. Employing those words in that combination implies that Shakira desperately wants to have sex. And that the man she chose is “[her] territory” (line16). Saying that her territory is right under the guy’s clothes implies that after she has sex, the man is her property. An artist only wishing to express love would have ended their song with a simple “I love you.
