College Essay

I can still remember vividly the last night lying on the beach. The sky was fully strewn with stars and the salty sea breeze gently touched my face. It had been the most meaningful eight days in my life. Now, I've become a mature young woman rather than a timid little girl. I believe there is nothing impossible to achieve when I don't give up easily. At the moment right before I stepped my foot into the fire, I almost withdrew from the fear of burning my foot. However, within a twinkling of an eye, my belief in science, and also in myself, kept me going. During the eight days, we all had to dump everything from the portable toilet into the ocean. I told him without hesitation that I wanted to be a doctor. I consider it the greatest turning point in my life. I poured cups of water on it to keep it alive. I believe that all life is sacred and equal, so I became a vegetarian. Once my teacher said, "The best things always happen by accident," which for me was the Baja trip. Science, I believe, is the key to open people's minds.
