Hackers

This report is on hackers. I think at some point in time, everyone wants to be a hacker, maybe just to change a few grades on the report card, or even just to be the first one to know when the next Playstation system comes out. But some hackers are down right felons. Some, if not most of them, use their hacking knowledge to “try” and hack into big companies, or even home personal computers to get stocks, credit card numbers, or anything that they want for that matter. They can do these kinds of things by a bunch of techniques, that are known of now. One of the techniques is called “Denial of Service Attacks”. What this is, is something that has been made to completely block out important users from websites and or networks. In order to do this, the hacker or hackers will make a program that will constantly ask the victim computer information until the computer can

. . .

This technique is basically used by the important user. Another technique is called “Social Engineering”. Each computer has a packet, witch is codes and numbers that computers use to communicate. Probably the biggest and most known about way is “Viruses and Worms”. Within those packets can be very important things such as usernames and passwords, credit card numbers, etc…. Another way of hacking is called “DNS Spoofing”. com, the altered DNS entry will send the user somewhere else and then if someone wanted to buy something online, when they enter their credit card numbers, the number is stolen by the hacker. They may pose as an employee and say that they have forgot their passwords to something and somebody else may give a password to the hackers and then the hacker has access. Another way for a hacker to get stuff he or she wants is using “Packet Sniffers”. not answer any other questions what so ever. When you do this, your computer translates the words into numbers and finds the web page that you wanted to go to and then brings it up on your screen. This is when a hacker or hackers will physically pose as an employee or a computer technician and will talk to unsuspecting people at a business or something and ask for passwords an stuff like that. Most of the viruses and worms have been modified so that once opened, they automatically send themselves to anyone and everyone in the victims address book.
