Business Organization in society - social issues

In this paper, I will explain Business organization in society, social issues, as well as technology issues and how it relates to my organization. It will entail the review of organizations and ethical environment. Speaking on social issues that affect today’s workplace and analyzing how ethics play a part in business decision-making. Discussing the contemporary relationship between business and society. Exploring how fare we have come in technology and how it effects the way we do business and how it will continue to change our way of life.

Business Responsibility within the Community

Milton Friedman (2001) said that the "One and only one social responsibility of business is to increase profits so long as it stays within the rules of the game, which is to say, engages in open and free competition without deception or fraud." I opened with that statement because I feel strongly that business owe it to the community to play by the rules. In present time so many large corporations are being exposed, and so much has come to the light. We as consumers do our part, we buy, we pay taxes, and we are hard working people. Congress needs to reinforce law by: Exposing and punishing acts of corruption, move corporate a

. . .
Additional measures need to be taken to ensure that our laws are vigorously enforced and that business leaders who violate the law receive the punishment they deserve.

This statistical evidence demonstrates two important things: first, the markets for labor and other productive resources are open and flexible enough to provide considerable freedom and opportunity to most workers in market economies. The quality and loyalty of company’s workforce is a crucial part of market advantage.

Throughout the business community, many of the decisions made by executives, managers and employees have an important moral dimension. Information technology enables these stakeholders to communicate instantly with each other and their audiences. Second, it appears working relationships have changed away from being "familial" in the direction of being more competitive. Third, the employer-employee relationship has moved away from long-term and stable in the direction of short-term and contingent. First, employee productivity increases when employers treat their employees with more respect. However, I feel that we will loose person ability for a more easy and fast way of life. Third, even if there is no material gain, ethically appropriate behavior provides an intrinsic sense of self-satisfaction. Companies face the constant challenge of recruiting and retaining the most capable people.

Business for Social Responsibility

There is a company by the name of “Business for Social Responsibility (BSR)” They declare their organization to be a global nonprofit organization that helps member companies achieve commercial success in ways that respect ethical values, people, communities and the environment.

Business is about people, about relationships with people. Second, employees may find that increased ethical behavior on their part actually results in higher compensation.
