             At first glance, the Weight Watchers program may appear as yet another cliche system for weight loss, but its implementation of "points", encouraging meetings, and its lifetime health effects dispel the misconceptions of casual dieting. People recognized that others could achieve substantial results in dieting by guiding, motivating and inspiring them. Over the past forty years Jean Nidetch and leaders have touched the lives of so many health challenged individuals. Today, the basis of the program remains the same as when it first began four decades ago, and still preserves its strong ways.
             In terms of achieving substantial results dieters must have guiding. The first initiative of fit living derives from the "points" method. Implementation of this system is a taught skill and basis for the Weight Watchers program. Breaking the structure down, "points" are fundamentally a sum number given to a wide array of individual food - from an apple possessing 1 point to a glass of water containing 0 points. At the start of a person's diet, he or she determines with a personal leader their point intake for each day. Dieters take into account the factors of age and current weight when calculating their points. Adding points to the daily total reveals itself in two ways. For instance, an additional two points may accommodate teenagers, as their bodies have yet to fully develop. Aside from personal traits, a person who exercises regularly can also receive the reward of extra points; thirty minutes of intense jogging can bring forth a supplementary five.
