Conscience the Sense of Right and Wrong - Huckleberry Finn

A source of moral or ethical judgment or pronouncement. c. Conformity to one's own sense of right conduct. Huck has lived a tough life in the few years he has been here, no mom, and a dad that is a complete drunk who can't even be found half the time. Through out his short yet eventful life society has had its ways of teaching him what is right and wrong, and how to act in certain situations. Despite what society has tried to teach Huck, he has is own perception of right and wrong? During Huck's adventures He and Jim were on their raft and came across a sinking boat so decided they wanted to get aboard and take some essential things for their benefit. While they were on board they realized that there were robbers aboard stealing "booty" (a.k.a. treasure). Huck and Jim immediately were frightened and decided they had to release the robber's boat, but when they cut it loose and the robber's didn't notice so Huck and Jim decided to jump in and make off with the booty. Once they had escaped successfully Huck realized that the robbers could die


He chooses to forget his society's moral code and go with his own. I studied a minute, sort of holding my breath, and then says to myself: All right, then, I'll go to hell.
