The T.T.C, as we all depend on, is supposed to be a great means of transportation provided by the government. Everybody relies on the T.T.C because it transport millions of people everyday. Students, especially, are very dependent on the public transportation, since majority of student cannot drive yet. We especially need it to get to school, or going to work and other commitments we may have. T.T.C is supposed to help us get places, and although it is our only public transportation, I am entirely against them. I do not agree with their decisions to go on strikes, which often comes once a year, this affects everyone especially students. Not to mention, a number of bus drivers lack courteous behavior. Finally, in respect to the rules, most bus drivers are way too strict in enforcing those rules. I feel the T.T.C takes advantage of our necessity to public transportation. Almost every year, the T.T.C goes on strikes, demanding raises. Their privilege of being a Union, gives them the idea that they have the right to go on strike and demand a raise. The people who suffer the most out of this are the students, because we the majority are very dependent on buses. We need them
C employees are getting greedier by the year and in order to stop them, the government should stop giving them what they want. Even if it does say so in the back of our cards, I think it is ridiculous how some bus drivers want you to show your card before you put your ticket in and if you do not, they expect you to put an extra ticket in. They should consider us more than themselves. We pay a great amount of money for those and we should have the right to use them for the whole month, regardless if we have our card or not. Transportation is getting expensive and sooner or later people will come up with other means of public transportation. Not to mention, after every strike the prices on tickets increase. C property after we purchase them, other wise it is our property. Bad enough we have to have a card but they have to hassle us too? Why should they stop the bus because they are busy hassling some student for a student card. Since most teenagers do not know how to drive, or live very far from the school. If they must switch shifts they should do so in the station, instead of making passengers wait. I constantly hear students complain about bus drivers harassing them for student cards. They fail to acknowledge Students' financial situations. They want to stick to their schedules but sometimes they are late and make you wait forever. They should not confiscate any student cards or metro passes because we do pay for those, they should not be T.
