Claude Monet
Claude-Oscar Monet was born in Paris, France on November 14, 1840. The Monet families had come to Paris in the late eighteenth century. Monet was baptized on May 20, 1841 at the local parish church, Notre-Dame-de-Lorette. In 1845 Claude Monet's father decided to move the family to the Norman port of Le Havre. Monet painted how he felt about the picture. He died of lung cancer on December 5, 1926 in France, Giverny. He didn't care what others thought about his paintings. I thought he was an excellent artist who first introduced Impressionism. He also took drawing courses offered by Jacques-Francois Ochard. Monet’s style of art was different than other artists of his time. This way he painted several long series of paintings including haystacks, poplar trees, cathedral, and water lilies. In his earlier years he took art lessons from painter, Eugene Boudlin, who introduced Monet to outdoor painting. He painted water lilies his last ten years of life.
