There are many masks and representations of ones personality in this film. As well, Juliet in the eccentric, uncultivated color red was the one to let the gluttony get the better half of her. She stabbed Alex, and in the end she wound up getting played for a fool. The dark seemed to be able to offer him a peace he could not have one his own. He begins by saying that he is writing a novel about priests. This is one of countless scenes we see that utilizes foreshadowing.
