Mothers
The most significant person in my life would have to be my mother. She is a strong willed woman, who has managed to raise a charming, clever, and intelligent daughter. For 17 years she has provided the necessities, the luxuries and most of all, the love that a young woman needs and wants in her life. Being a single mother, stress got in the way of her happiness, so I decided to try to make my mother happy. I got straight A's in school, countless awards, stayed out of trouble, and became active in the church. I even started to watch my diet!
If I can say so myself, I am a well-rounded girl, I know what I want out of life and just like my mother, I will let nothing stop me until I have reached my goal. I think she raised a pretty good child. The one thing I admire most about her is that she didn't care that she was raising me alone; all she cared about is that I had a great childhood to remember. I would like to ultimately thank her by giving her my college degree. My mom did more for me than I think most single mothers do for their children. I would like to thank my mother for everything she has done for me. She put my needs before hers and one I day would like to repay her. I commend her on her hard work for 17 years raising me alone. Since she didn't have the chance to earn one I would like to, when the time comes, accept my degree in her name. She is there when I need a shoulder to cry on, when I need a good laugh, when I need help with my homework and especially when I have boy troubles. Even though I didn't understand why I received the punishments I got when I was growing up, now I see that it was all for the good. Because she was raising me by herself, my mother was not able to get a college degree in business, which she always wanted. father around was hard at first, but she helped me adjust to the situation.
