Human suffering: "Musee des Beaux Arts"
Both poets composed these poems with the poetic techniques. By means of sense devices the poets described the events clearly especially William Carlos William describing "The Fall of Icarus." The poet used the image of sight to emphasise the fall of Icarus by irony between "spring" and "the fall." it was spring William used the image of second in the sixteenth line to emphasise that people around the disaster should hear and could help Icarus in that time. this was Icarus drowning Besides, between the thirteenth to fifteenth lines, there is the image of touch.
Here, there is the quote from a part of "Landscape with the Fall of Icarus" to be the example. This image emphasises about "heat" that could melt the waxed-wings. That even the dreadful martyrdom must run its courseWe can find figurative language in both poems, for example, personification, allusion, irony, etc. " People were indifferent to that disaster although people heard the second of splattering water. All of them refer the pictures of Brueghel, and these pictures allude to bible and Greek mythology. Human gives more information and description through three events: the Census in Bethlehem, the Massacre of the innocents and the fall of Icarus. Their presentations are different because "Landscape with the Fall of Icarus" used a painting to describe the suffering of human, while "Musee des Beaux Arts" was conducted by three paintings. Dogs, which were the sharp-nosed animal, did not know any change in that area. He described three events to find the overlap between these events by the readers. Due to the fact that there are important events among the crowd, but none of them pay attention to them even animals. when Icarus fall it was spring Moreover, in both poetry, there is an irony of situation.
