The legal drinking age should be lowered to eighteen. Young men are sent to die in other countries everyday and can't even drink a beer legally. The irony of the whole situation is that the United States Government decides that the age of adulthood is eighteen. Many people drink resposibly by themselves. The Government is being unfair and completely hippocritical. Forget the problems internationally, and start focusing on the people's rights. n year olds enough to save lives; then a little more respect is due. Because of more choices to choose from, the right decision becomes easier. But then, are young men and women given the right to drink in public? No! The same old song and dance is given: the legal age is twenty-one but you're drink? Joe's car is more deadly than the bottle of beer Suzy was drinking Friday night. People, it is time to listen to our own country's voice. But isn't the entire population of the planet earth imperfect? The younger generation of ourtime has more opportunities than ever before. With more intelligence usually comes more responsibility. A person cannot always make the right decision at the preconcieved "legal age". Those are the rights given to the people, for the people, and by the people. All of a sudden the older people aren't quite as intelligent as the younger generation. What about the older people of today's world? Grandma Smith, can't see her hand in front of her face, but is licensed to drive but the young adult who's out on a date can't purchase a nice bottle of wine.
