Winston Churchill and Hitler Compare and Contrast
When the human mind sees the world falling apart and the greatest of threats looming on the horizon, they begin searching for someone to place their trust in. They want someone who can give them answers, someone who can direct their fear and anger in to sometimes but not always irrational zeal. Throughout human histories tribulations and hardships the rise of many intellectuals, hero's and sometimes-infamous figures have been witnessed. They are most recognized for their taming and persuasion of the masses. One of histories greatest hardships is the chaos of war. World War II is well known as one of the greatest wars in human history. World War II was the birthplace of many hero's as well as infamous men and women. When you look at the opposite poles of this spectrum you can see that they are different in many ways, but upon closer- scrutiny remarkable similarities can be found upon which you may find complicates your views and thoughts on perspective as well as human rationality. Winston Churchill, although an unpopular right wing politician in the English parliament, soon found himself rising in power during the turbulent years of the mid 30's. Any person or society in the same place as the Germans would have been influenced by that idea. But the end result stayed the same Hitler and Churchill both came to their people with hope to offer and the conditions led their people to take it with ease. Visibly scarred by the Great Depression, they were a broken peoples searching for answers. He was now a renegade, imprisoned for insurrection and constant protest against what Germany had become after the treaty of Versailles. His speech's gave the people of Germany a reason why they were suffering. The differences between them lied in their methods and motives. The people of Britain saw amongst chaos death and constant rocket and bomb attacks, which devastated their lives and homes, a man who shared their hate towards the Germans and who had warned them before hand. The lesson to be learned in human thinking is that, humans will believe anything given to them if it gives them a sense of hope. Once war broke out, the people of Britain harbored sometimes irrational but well placed hate towards the Germans. Hitler wanted total control and semi godhood and Churchill wanted to defend his way of life. When looking at both these descriptions it is easy to see the similarities. Hitler quickly rose to chancellor and started the military juggernaut that would plow through Europe in a few short years. The hardships each of them faced left them more susceptible, searching for reasons and answer's and what they found was a man who had both.
