EQ: Compare the major contributions of the Greeks with those of the Romans. What generalizations can you make about each civilization? Both Greeks and the Romans have made many major contributions that many other civilizations still use today. I will start of by telling about all of the great contributions that the Greeks have made. The Greeks were very into theater. They started two main types of theater known as drama and comedy. Also Greeks around the same time period started writing about history in their literature. The Romans and the Greeks both believed in laws. The Romans were the first civilization to have a Republic government, a Republic is a government in which the people vote on their rulers. s, architecture and other buildings and works. The Romans had many arguments and changes in their religions. Both governments were unique, successful, and are not a copy of other civilizations. The Romans became so successful and rich because of their population that they contributed roads and bridges for easier traveling. Feudalism was when the owner of a large piece of land gave small parts of his land to his workers in return he got loyalty and service. They both believe that their laws are there to secure equal justice and protect their citizens. The Romans also made many important contributions. Both of these civilizations were very successful and made many major contributions to the world we live in today. Also, Greek philosopher came up with a method of teaching by asking questions. The biggest contribution that the Romans ever made was probably that they were the first civilization to put their laws in writing, this was known as the twelve tables. In the Roman Government the citizens voted on their ruler or rulers. Also the Romans had one set of laws and one language.
