King Arthur

People like to win. It goes back to the beginning of time when barbarians use to fight animals for food. Although this was for survival the soul purpose of doing this was to win. It is human nature to want to be the hero, the victor, the champion, the conqueror, the one who gets or the publicity and lives happily ever after. The legendary King Arthur was exactly this. He was and still is perceived as strong, brave, and heroic, something everyone dreams about. So could it be possible that the reason behind why the legend of Arthur has been around for so long is because what everyone ideally wants is to be like a modern day Arthur? Well sure in the end Arthur's reign ends and Camelot falls; however for the most part up until the decline of Camelot wasn't Arthur's life pretty perfect? If Camelot never fell then where would all of the action and the drama fall into place? The legend of King A

All of these characters have qualities that make people want to be them. They make people wish they were like them, and if they didn't have these certain qualities that universally appealed to everyone why would people watch them? That is simple, they wouldn't. What were the purposes for changing the story? Of course there is always those few exceptions where the change wasn't intentional like forgetting to put a small detail in, but then there are always those few that change the story to fit their purpose. Just think what the real story might be like. rthur has everything that a good story should have; everything that people want to hear and to tell about. Depending on what variation of the tale you read, the events differ slightly in the sequence of events and specific details. The Arthurian legends are still popular today, and most likely are because of those factors mentioned above: the qualities that Arthur possesses are appealing and also the adapting of the story. So basically the movie that Disney made has many of the children who have watched that movie a false impression of King Arthur. Disney for example, The Story the Sword in the Stone was no where as near violent as the movie Excalibur. It is a definite given that even if the Arthurian legend were based on a true story that some parts would have evolved somewhere down the line. Maybe it wouldn't have been as interesting, so also the adaptations that were made to these stories then King Arthur's legend could be a contributor to the survival of this story. One of the possible explanations of why the legend of King Arthur is still Cimino 2around today is that this story contains everything needed to a good drama, and it also contains someone that everyone wants to be like. Maybe even though Camelot did fall it was a good thing Cimino 3because it has a moral and it reminds people that everything comes at a price, and again what would be the fun without a little drama?. Disney stories always use tales where there is a protagonist: Arial in The Little Mermaid, Simba in The Lion King, Mulan in Mulan, and Arthur in The Sword and the Stone. Also, when people tell stories sometimes they tend to "juice it up" a bit to make it more interesting.
