             In Shakespeare's play "Macbeth" and Tolstoy's short story, "How Much Land Does A Man Need" relates with the conflict of need vs. greed and . Telling a story of a good and admirable
             protanogist whose qualities haved gone corrupted.
             In Shakespeare's play "Macbeth", the protagonist character Macbeth is introduced as a loyal noblesmen who is looked up to, and honored in the royal family. Macbeth is a humble man which is implied by this image when he says, " The thane of cawdor lives. Why do you dress me in borrowed robes?" Illustrating how he is humble and does not care about the "name" he is given or recognized by. Macbeth is satisfied with being a loyal servant to his lord King Duncan. Not even caring what the future will bring him, Macbeth shows that not even the weirdess witches can make him wonder.Shown by, when Macbeth laughs and mocks the three witches of their foolish predictions. Macbeth shows himself as a man who likes actions than false predictions. Showing his loyalty and
             conformity, relying on what he has and earned showing the true qualities of a protanogist.
             Later in the play our protanogist starts to show his greed for power cause by the his inner corruption. He rethinks the predictions of the three witches, questioning himself and then trying to seek the power of royalty. Macbeth, our protanogist then kills off the King Duncan and gets the power he was seeking for. To keep his title Macbeth gets more greedy and establish a "Keep my friends close and my enemies even closer." He has already slashed his honored by killing off his lord, he has nothing to lose but his self worth. Where it did not matter in the play, his greed has already corrupted his inner self worth. Where he dies in the sword of justice and payback. Destroying all that what Macbeth once stood, a strong fearless leader who was looked upon and honored to by all his noble peers.
