Judaism, Christianity and Islam

The definition of religion is defined as follows: System of belief in, worship of a supernatural power or god. From this simple word, an unbelievable amount of individual interpretations have arisen. Religion has not only become a system of belief but a cause for individuality, superiority and conflict. Throughout the centuries laws have been enacted, land taken, created and destroyed and wars have been fought in an effort to defend one’s religion. Some religions have close to nothing in common while others have many similarities. In Islamic tradition judgement occurs after death and everyone will be held accountable for his/her deeds. Anyone who rejects the Holy Quar’an and Allah will be damned to hell. They also advocate that we foster modest, moderation and hard work and submit ourselves to the will of God. God’s existence is certainly the most important question of human philosophy. These three religions also have holidays where they repent, fast and ask for forgiveness. Authorities abused it to “control” their people. In Islam fasting takes place during the month of Ramadan. In doing this we will be able to build better communities and live as God intended us to – in peace. The purpose of all these books is to teach people how to live in peace with God, and the universe which God has created. In order to get to heaven all members of each religion must go through Judgement. Judaism, Islam and Christianity share the elements of presenting God in their faith. The Christian/Muslim conflicts began during the seventh century CE with the fall of the Byzantine cities in Egypt and the Holy Land within ten years of the death of Muhammad.
