Walt Disney Pictures attempts to segregate and label women of different appearance and personality. They also show good faith in trying to provide what they believe to be a good example of the American family unit, albeit not one of my understanding. Much of the twentieth century was spent on unifying women and promoting their individuality along with their ability to be on an equal level with men, however, Walt Disney pictures attempts to subliminally label women and restrict their unification and individuality. They promote separation and competition among women and this is reflected in the story dialogue and its complementary imagery. He allowed for this dishonesty to continue on despite a feeling of shame brought forth by his trickery. This idea is of relevance when viewing the presentation of the Middle Eastern female in the movie “Aladdin”. Despite his varied attempts and constant trickery, he cannot convince Belle to love him, however, we do see that there exists a group of women that do love Gaston and would do anything for his affection. Walt Disney Pictures has successfully provided a moral education to many of its fans and helping to show that women can be equal to men, seeing as most of the women in the films are strong, independent and self relying. Whether it be direct or indirect, all of Hollywood can be called responsible for this, but it is the numbness brought upon by over exposure to constant images of negativity and such, which ultimately affords these ideas to be present in our society.

Since Aladdin is now completely infatuated by Princess Jasmine, he utilizes the abilities of the genie of the lamp to turn him into a prince so that he could make himself more appealing, for he does not believe that a lowly street rat is deserving of a princess. When I was younger these things were not as apparent as they are now, however, as I grow older I am able to understand the supposed “adult” jokes presented in the movies and find some of them to be offensive and rather unnecessary. Eventually he is exposed as a simple peasant by Jafar, and the princess is aghast at the deceit practiced by Aladdin throughout their relationship.
