This article from ABC NEWS talks about how child abuse can corrupt a child's mind, and drive them to engage in things that they normally would not have. A grandmother, Follette, had fought for legal custody of her four grandchildren. The children suffered many distressing events that are unhealthy for child growth. They were exposed to neglect, parental abandonment, physical abuse, and other things of that nature. Grandmother Follette won the custody of the children, and they had to go and live with her in Columbus, Ohio. At the grandmother's house, the children still experienced discipline, but it wasn't as severe as before. The types of punishment that the grandmother would give are time outs, being grounded, or standing in the middle of the room on one foot. One day, January 21, two of the children, an 11-year-old boy and his 12-year-old sister, had devised an appalling machination to kill their grandmother and their younger siblings. Their plan was to set the house on fire and kill the grandmother and their siblin
Child abuse can damage a child's emotions causing he/she to do things that they would not normally do. The psychological problems that the children faced were eminent with the creature. The evidence showed that the arsenal was accidental, but the little girl made a confession of the plot while they were eating breakfast at a restaurant. Victor is guilty of both of these wrong doings. The children will be administered continued counseling to try to soothe the emotional scars instilled in them by parental abuse. Their lawyers are entering a plea of not guilty to the charges. As revealed with the children, the neglect and abandonment-as well as embarrassing treatment-caused the children to create a murderous plot against their grandmother. The same way that these types of abuses led to the children creating a murderous plot to kill their family, could have been the drive that cause the creature to commit his crimes. Through examination, psychologists explained about the children's instability from the past occurrences in their live with their biological parents in Louisiana, and the humiliation that the children must feel with some of the punishment the grandmother gave to the kids. Their plan was to have a bigger house all to themselves. The children were traumatized during their life and they even received counseling. The house burned rapidly, and one of their siblings woke up in time and warned the house of the fire, and they escaped safely. The two children face the possibility to remain under state custody until they are the age of 21. This severe abuse, although not physical (but emotional), were the driving forces that led to the behavior problems of the creature, and caused him to murder the loved ones of Victor Frankenstein-"If I can't inspire love, I will cause fear!".
