Quality of Parents

What are the Qualities of a Good Parent?

So often parenting seems to be a lesson is guesswork. Parents always ask themselves

“should I do this?” Or “should I do that?” But the truth is there is no rulebook to say what

is right or what is wrong. All parents have different qualities and the only people who can

determine whether you’re a good parent or not are society. Though some parents have

different qualities, many parents’ posses the same qualities, and those are the qualities that stand out from the others.

Parent’s posses attributes that show them to be good parents and role models in society. One of the most important qualities a parent must have is responsibility. All parents have to take responsibility of there children, not because they do not want there child to misbehave or do something which was legally wrong, but because if a parent shows that they are responsible, then the child will also lear

. . .

But because society is changing from day to day, the level of discipline is also changing and therefore a consistent approach to discipline has to be enforced on the child.

For parents, raising their child is on of the hardest job they have to face in life, but it takes skill to succeed in becoming a good parent.

A quality that all parents should have on their children is discipline. All parent want there child to be responsible persons, and they want this responsibility to spring from ultimate values, among which are reverence for life and concern for human welfare, which is based on the respect for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. If parents can remain consistent in what the do, then their children will also become more consistent and they will know what to expect from their parents. The attitudes include a willingness to allow the child to feel all their feelings; the skills include an ability to demonstrate to children acceptable way of coping with feelings. In some cases, this may not work if the parents do not know how to cope with their own feelings, and when they are confronted by turbulent emotions in children they will try to deny, disown, suppress, or prettify them, and this shows the parents lack of responsibility. And two of the main skills that parents need are responsibility and discipline, and both change in the way they are adapted to children over time because of the constant change in society, and that is why parents need be ready for the changes so they can adapt themselves towards knowing how to raise there child in an efficient way. Parents see the lack of responsibility in their child’s messy room, tardy school attendance, sloppy homework and sulky disobedience. But a lot of parents do not usually consider the problem of responsibility in its larger framework. These are what children see as their constitutional rights, and the parents have to learn to accept that, otherwise their child will feel deprived which will lead to the child also feeling neglected. But the parents should also ask themselves “what should they expect from their child?” This is the stage when a parent has to be permissive towards the child. Sometimes parents do not know how to deal with the discipline of their child and therefore they think they are bad parents.
