Pregnancy Related Diseases

Becoming pregnant may not always be a planned occurrence, especially when a woman is in college. Things happen, and when they do, some may not know what to do next. What several people do not realize also is that there are several things that can go wrong during a pregnancy, and proper prenatal care is essential. There are several types of diseases that occur only in pregnant women, which is what many do not know about. RhoGam does no harm to the woman or the fetus. The baby's blood is tested again right after birth, and if it's positive, the woman will be given RhoGam again within three days, and usually the problem ends there. Also, the woman should know that the chance of forming Rh antibodies increases with each pregnancy, so she should always keep up with testing. (Kilpatrick)
