V. Which characters in Cat's Cradle were the best developed and presented? Which characters did I like the most? Which characters did I like the least? Which characters struck me as being the most important? Why (cite examples from the text)?
             One of the best presented and developed characters, I feel, is Dr. Felix Hoennikker. He was first presented in the book through Newt Hoennikker's letter, a reply to John's (narrator) letter, that was to describe the day the atom bomb was dropped in Hiroshima, Japan. Newt began describing his father by stating that he did not think or remember his father ever reading anything. (10) This is peculiar when you think about how intelligent Felix actually is and how successful he was is making things that were of use. I feel that Felix is mostly represented by the speech he made when he accepted the Nobel Prize. (11) "This is the whole speech: 'Ladies and Gentlemen. I stand before you now because I never stopped dawdling like an eight-year-old on a spring morning on his way to school. Anything can make me stop and look and wonder, and sometimes learn. I am a very happy man. Thank you."(11) In a statement from Felix in Time magazine where he was asked what games he played for relaxation, he said," Why should I bother with made-up games when there are so many real ones going on?"(11) These statements clearly define Felix's outlook on life. He believes the world is extremely interesting with all its mysteries. He cannot get enough excitement from pondering question after question concerning nature, people, or life as a whole. He is extremely curious as to why certain things, that cross his mind, happen.
