In my opinion, this was a great tragedy. People will go to great heights for the one they love. Antigone was to be confined in a rock chamber. I think the theme of this story was that love is the greatest thing in the world. By the time her arrived, he found Antigone who had hanged herself, and Haemon, who had also killed himself, lying side by side. King Creon rushed to release Antigone from her prison but was too late. When she heard of the news that her son had died, she stabbed herself in the heart. s “bound to obey the eternal laws of right and wrong” despite the fact that Creon had stated no man was supposed to bury Polyneices or he would be sentenced to death. On his arrival at the palace, he finds his wife, Eurydice, dead also. Although it was quite hard to understand, it had a great plot. If Haemon took his life because the woman he loved had taken her own, it shows the power of love.
