Democrats and Republicans - opposing views

To live in America is a greater privilege than any of us could ever imagine. Our freedom of speech, religion, and constitutional right to equality truly makes this country one of a kind. The greatness of this country would not be possible without an even greater government to uphold the constitution and work to make this country a better place to live everyday. The reason for such a great government lyes in our right to pick the people who we want to run it. Since 1789 voting has been a tradition and defining quality of The United States Government. However, as equal as we are in this country it is our diversity which makes us strong and flexible and is the birth place of our two party system. This two party system has been around for over two hundred years and consists of the modern day Democrats and Republicans. Although these two political parties share a common interest in trying to unite and make America stronger, they share very opposing views as to how the country should be run and the policies that it should uphold. The differences of economy, the war on terrorism, and healthcare that they posses formulate the line that is drawn between these two American political parties. Choosing the right way to run our nati

It seems as if the Republicans want to try to govern this country with the least government involvement. This will relieve nations from dictatorships, the type of governments that are likely to harbor and recruit terrorists. ons economy differs greatly between Republicans and Democrats. The Democrats believe that in order to keep more jobs in the United States they have to end tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas. However, Republicans will improve the economy using different strategies. The Republicans also think the people should be able to have more choice with issues such as healthcare reform. Democrats also want to end the production of nuclear weapons and materials as well as dismantle weapons of mass destruction worldwide. Over the past two years America has seen more effects of terrorism in this country than at anytime before. They also plan to lower healthcare costs for companies that will then pass on the saving to their employees. The Republicans also want to set up accounts that families can draw their out of pocket costs from that the government will help pay for. Another effort to be made by Democrats to support the war on terror is to gain energy independence that will reduce importing oil from nations known to harbor and fund terrorists. While both parties see this as an unavoidable problem, they have different ideas as to how to fight terrorism. They think people should be able to keep more of their hard earned money than have the government decide what they should do with it. The Democrats also want to offer tax breaks to businesses that offer reduced healthcare costs to their employees. On the other hand, Democrats seem to rely on more government involvement to push forth the policies they wish to see executed.
