Apollo 13

On July 20, 1969, Jim Lovell sat at home and watched Neil Armstrong become the first man to walk on the moon. Jim Lovell gets the news that Allan Shepard got sick with an inner ear infection and that he was now going to be the captain of the Apollo 13 mission. So, Jim Lovell, Fred Haise, and Ken Maddingly went in to training for the mission to the moon. Then just two days prior to the launch date Ken Maddingly is thought to have measles.

. . .

The crew has to make a ventilation box to clean up the air. They have to power down to stop the leak and save enough oxygen to get home on. Every thing goes to plan and they reentered fine and made it home successfully. They release the service module and Aquarius and prepare for reentry into the atmosphere. His replacement is Jack Swaggord from the back up crew for the mission. On April 10 the crew of Apollo 13 is launched into space and headed for the moon. The process works and everything seems to be in order. Ken Maddingly has to simulate a way to save as much power as possible and still get them back alive. It was caused by Swaggord stirring the oxygen tanks, which had a short in the coil causing a spark and an explosion. The crew finds out that they are slowly being poisoned by CO2 in the air. The crew was losing all their oxygen. Then while Swaggord was doing basic routine check ups there was a massive explosion. Maddingly figures out a way to save enough power to get them home successfully. Since the explosion accured they won’t be able to land on the moon.
