America, being quite possibly the most powerful country in the world, has a certain obligation towards itself, as well as all of the nations with which it coexists. America has the unwelcome burden of deciding if and when it is our job to police the world. Also, in policing the world, America has the responsibility to keep a balance between domestic and foreign affairs. In policing our country, as well as the rest of the world, America may be often taking on more than they can handle; or at least more than it should have to.
Many American's disagree entirely with helping other nations, thinking that America should remain isolated from international affairs, supporting us and us alone. Also, many Americans would like to see a fair balance between helping other countries and helping ourselves. This is where America has to decide whether they are fulfilling their obligations towards ourselves while taking on new responsibilities elsewhere. As one of the most powerful countries in the world, America has several obligations to itself and to other nations. There are many different opinions on where America's responsibilities should extend. Since we have already taken on the burden of providing support to nations worldwide, we have taken on the new task of balancing all of our responsibilities. In taking on this burden, America assumes the responsibility of keeping a balance between domestic and foreign affairs. As the country that we are, we must decide whether it is our responsibility to promote this international welfare. We are spending billions of dollars to feed starving people overseas while people are dying of hunger here in our own country. With this power, America takes on a certain burden of deciding when it is our job to be involved with other nations. Many Americans are proud to see that their country is providing help where needed elsewhere in the world. We are spending billions to provide homes for the homeless overseas while there are people living on the streets nationwide in America. We spend countless billions on the welfare of other countries. This obligation, this burden, this responsibility, and this balance are what America's role in the world is all about.
