Some kids join gangs because they think it might solve some of their problems but it doesn’t it actually might create more of them and drive you crazy. People who join gangs might want respect but joining a gang is not the right ways to do it respect others and they might respect you back. Kids join gangs because they think it gives them power, money, a substitute family, respect, security, protection, and friendship. Things that can bring you to violence are movies and games a lot of them have lots of violence. This is something you might want to know a lot of gangs expect you to be ready to do crimes and do violent things when you join them, and once you join a gang it might be pretty hard to get back out and you can make lots of enemies. In one study, about 35% of students said that they feared being attacked by a gang member and that is why joined gangs.
