Business Systems

The new system that we are designing for Anders Bookstore is going to allow for employees at Anders to access a number of different forms of data in order to improve business. We are going to design the new system so that anyone can use it. Cashiers will be able to scan books at the registers and the system will automatically update inventory. They will also have access to computer information with the new interface that the cash register could not provide, which is useful in those times that they would have to call for a price check slowing down check out times. Suppliers will be able to log on to the server to see what inventory at Anders is looking like. Robert, who is the assistant book manager at Anders will be able to log on to purchase books from the supplier, check inventory levels, and produce reports. Lower level book employees will be grateful that they no longer have to do book counts. Ronnie will be able to manage his business more effectively by keeping a closer eye on inventory with less of a workforce required to do the job. This system will enable the staff of Anders to know exactly what is on hand so they can eliminate the need to conduct a hand count. Customers will notice the most improvement when more of the books they are looking for are in stock when they need them to be thanks to the speedier and more accurate process of ordering. There will be an overall improvement in the smoothness of day to day operation.
