Influences throughout the Media.
The media is mass communication, a connection that is all over the world. It is known to inform, entertain, and also influence people and their surroundings. Examples of media are things such as television, Internet, periodicals, music, radio, and magazines. The most common assumption is that an individual has the ability to control what he/she sees, thinks, or feels about a particular issue. To some extent this is true. However, can something so popular as the media have an effect on the average person without their even knowing it? Some common types of media should be judged carefully. Some good examples of mass media would include television, newspapers, and the Internet. Television has gone through many changes in years with society. Companies have many persuasive tactics to help attract the attention to help sell products. It wouldn't be right to say that the media has only a minimal impact on people's values, beliefs and opinions. The Internet does have a strong effect upon many people. Students do have their own opinions, and aren't forced to believe anything they decide not to. It is able to influence more easily now than most other forms of the media because of it's easy access, and information that is put out over the web. At home, school offices, and public libraries. Many look at those with fame, and money as heroes. The message isn't always a positive one. Newspapers are also a very helpful and resourceful way to receive information in the world which we live in. Weather, world affairs, current events, and local news are usually found within a newspaper. Take a celebrity for example, if someone was watching television and he or she saw a celebrity promoting something they are more likely to buy into that particular product verses if someone that wasn't well known was promoting it. There are good and bad results from using the Internet. It can be too dangerous for someone to trust everything that the media produces. Encouragement, advice, and support are also results from the music media. Facts are given to students to inform them of their country, which helps make up their minds on what they agree, or disagree with about their country.
