Christian Liars
Back in the day when someone mentioned the word Christian the first image that popped up in my mind reflected a "Perfect person," almost "Angelic like." Since I have grown up I have come to realize no such person exists, though some few do come close. A true Christian in my opinion makes mistakes but admits when they have done wrong and does not lie about it. If most Christians gave an honest look at themselves in the mirror they would not perceive an angel staring back at them, doused in white robes, with a halo hanging slightly above their golden blond hair, and their hand carelessly strumming the chords that echo in our ears. "We continued our friendship and I managed to stay out of trouble because I feared what she might say. I also explained that my definition of a Christian was not one of a perfect person but one of an honest person who admits when he or she has done wrong. Later in life I got involved in the things she worked so hard to keep me away from. "People make mistakes," I said to her, "If we didn't we wouldn't need God's forgiveness would we?" She rolled her eyes, shrugged, and said "Whatever. When I confronted "Sally" about this she simply said she did not want to discuss it. She now admits her mistakes and does not judge others for theirs. " I explained to her that I did not care about what she did but that she lied and acted hypocritical towards me. In the end I actually taught her something. That's when I started to think different of her; a true Christian would never say that. She went to a friend's house and drank heavily. I asked her how she could say the things she said when in fact she participated in the same activities, if not ones that were worse. " It seems as though she partied heavily with a few of her close friends quite a few times. She preaches honesty over perfection. One day her best friend and I spurred up a conversation.
