Young Goodman Brown

             Young Goodman Brown lived happily in Salem Village. One night he left his home to go on a journey to meet with the devil himself. Before he had done this, his wife pleaded for him to stay this very particular night; she new what sights awaited him in the forest; as her being a part of this sinful nature. Young Goodman Brown left either way; he felt he had to do this for his own sake. He also thought that his beloved wife was the most innocent angel one can comprehend to ever have, he loved her so much. This was because Young Goodman Brown was born and raised in a Christian home and as a minister and only 3 months of being married he expected his wife to be the farthest thing from sin. Never-the-less, He did not realize that his wife was a Satan worshipper; which was of-course an irony for him, due to her name having the meaning of "trusting God". As innocent as this minister was, once he first started his voyage he did not realized that the elderly man he first met was the devil until later in the journey. This naive act was analyzed once Goodman Brown took the stick with the figure of a snake head offered to him by the elderly man; this action emphasized his confidence and trustworthy acts of innocence. So, as he continued his faith testing voyage he quickly realized that his faith was departing from him and going away little by little as he continued to head through the deep dark forest. As, he discovered the harsh truth about his wife Faith being well acquainted with the devil, he definitely felt as if he had lost faith ("faith" in terms of both spiritual and his wife") and due to the astonishment he apparently faints and wakes up the next morning. Once he enters Salem village again, he totally departs himself from society and well known people, feeling lonely and sad, he feels as if everyone is full of corruption in somehow hides a sinful dark secret.
