Voilence in Modern Society
Violence: Opposing Viewpoints is a book that is based on all types of violence including: domestic, youth and school violence. It is a book that is part of a volume of viewpoint books. It starts off with a debate with violence, asking if it is a key factor in society. Then issues such as youth violence and domestic violence and how it can be addressed and what causes it. . . .
The last chapter of the book talks about how violence could be reduced or how people can stop violent acts. Increased gun control, and harsher rules might crack down on the amount of violence in the United States, but being viewpoint book, the battle of gun control is explained. Some people believe that controlled gun violence will reduce violence while others think that it will not. All the statements in the book are all controversial and people can take sides on any of the issues. Other key issues that may cause violence are family problems, drug use, and lack of moral purpose. Drugs are usually depressants and this may cause someone to just try and take matters into their own hands and resort to violence. Violence is an issue that has two sides and this book accurately depicts both sides. This book has views from people from both sides of the issue. Family problems and lack of moral purpose go back to the depression factor. he different causes and how people might be drawn to violence. Issues such as media and genes may be main factors in why people are “sucked” into violence.
