Geographical Impact on Early Middle East

In the early years of man, many people, cultures, and other factors affected the history of the Middle East. One of these factors would have to be the landmarks and climate of the area. Geography influenced the culture and history of the Middle East because the fertile land called Mesopotamia allowed for farming, the weather affected what the people wore, and early man had to be nomadic due to the dry and sandy weather conditions.

The change to farming on the fertile ground changed the world forever. On this Mesopotamian land, many events occurred that would go down in history. It is believed that the Garden of Eden from the bible was in this region. Also, this new farming allowed for more trading between people. The earliest civilizations such as

The Arab people also have to wear hats or cloths on their heads so the sun does not burn them. The Arab people today still wear basically the same clothing. They could not keep their valuables because it would be too much trouble on the move. All of these characteristics of the Arab clothing are due to the extreme heat and dryness of the region. This fertile ground and holy land is still fought over to this day between those two religious groups. Middle Eastern people had to wear thin clothing with no seams to keep their bodies cool. This time period had to have been very harsh to the people because of the dryness of the land and the heat.

The Earliest men on Earth were forced to be nomadic because of the dryness and lack of resources in the land they occupied.

The harsh weather conditions determined the clothes the people wore in that day. Men could not trade in this period of time because they had nothing to trade. Also, most of the items of clothing the people wore were light colors in order to not attract sunlight. Both these hats and the long drape-like robes are used to keep the skin from burning under the bright hot sun. Religious rules and practices have been established because of the land and area they were started in. This also helped keep them cool and also kept the sun off of their skin.
