data based question:Islam
Islam is a religion that encompasses one fourth of the world’s population today. This religion has been around since the Prophet Muhammad came to speak the words of Allah. Ever since this, Islam has been a growing religion, with its promises of the future and loyalty to a monotheistic god. Islam covers an extensive empire because of the “passion to go to heaven in the n . . .
There were promises and values of Islam, although force could’ve been used to convert other nonbelievers. How could you respond to this…If you were unchurched you would probably have no problem saying that you would join a religion so that you would not die, but what would you say if you were a member of a religion outside the “book”? Muslims accepted Jews and Christians as “people of the book”, but the view of them differs from document to document. Islam gained many followers as Christianity did, by the promise of tomorrow. The reason behind many people joining the Muslim religion is unclear, but I am drawn to the force aspect behind this. Another way it seemed as though more people became Muslim was the force that was put upon them, “if ye oppose and displease them…I will fight against you” (document 1). If someone was telling they would fight against you if you disagreed with them, you would most likely go along with them to be safe. This gained support of the lower class, rather than religions that everyone seemed to be very wealthy.
