Censorship in music

I will commence my presentation today by explaining to you what censorship is, I will then continue to the arguments for and against censorship in music, finishing my presentation with a summary of what I have said to you before me today on this controversial issue.Censorship as a definition is the editing or altering of something someone has either said, written, or sung or in this case all of the aforementioned things, to make it more "socially acceptable" or "politically correct."In the music business this means the deletion of expletives and the monitoring of everything that is played on free to air radio and television,Many people say yes, that there should be censorship because lyrics from songs are telling our youth it is acceptable to participate in illegal actions such as murder, rape or drugs. These people believe that the lyrics actually drive people to become social deviants. However, others such as my self believe that the censorship of an artists lyric is an insult to their democratic right to freedom of speech. Now there are some of you before me today might ask how this so, and to answer that question I would point you towards the section of our constitution t

However this fact alone hasn't managed to convince the politicians and moral leaders of this country and others liker ours around the world to put a curb on the process. "Do Not Let The Headlines Fool You Censorship of music can not elimeintate evil it can only ever succeed in killing freedom. Also they believe that the fact that music is played on medias such as radio and televisions, which are free to listen to by all audiences, means that their children will be exposed to things they wish not for their children to be exposed to. Artists are not and never could be responsible for the actions of their fans, all they do is right down what they believe about a certain issue, or right about something they believe to be humorous, from there like any from of art they leave it to the individuals personal discretion as to how they interoperate their works. Controversy himself Eminem that said "But don't blame me when lil' Eric jumps off of the terrace. This is yet another reason as to how censorship harms the artist right to express themselves to a medium, a clear violation of their freedom of speech. hat refers to the freedom of speech, and the freedom of the press, this section is very similar to the first amendment in the American Constitution which states that no law shall be made that prohibits any American citizen from expressing their personal viewpoint on any matter, irrespective to how controversial there comments may be. The fact that the parents wanted to blame somebody for the death of their son, shows their obvious disinterest in his activities, and the failure of parents these days to know what their children are up to is in fact far more dangerous than any lyric could ever be. However in taking this viewpoint these people are obviously blind to one of the pivotal things that sets human beings apart from the rest of the animals that inhabit our earth, we have the ability to make choices, and whether they like it or not people at the end of the day decide for themselves what is right and what is wrong, and ultimately although some influence may be possible, it is up to the individual to assess the situation for themselves and act accordingly. They believe that what they are doing is not wrong. The aforementioned situation wasn't any different and the judge ruled accordingly, however the simple fact that the court case ever existed is one of the most worrying aspects of our time. Despite many artists best efforts to explain what I have said above the community leader sand politicians of our country are still scoring political points by supporting censorship of artists work, the most commonly known victim of this falsified controversy is Eminem, who has had his albums rated R18+ something which was done in an obvious attempt to shelter his records being sold to the people who wanted to listen to them, and in effect brand him as a failure, because any industry the music one included runs off supply and demand, and if a company or in this case performer doesn't cater for their customers next time they look they wont have any. You shoulda been watchin' him - apparently you ain't parents. And they believe this is a step that they believe they don't have to make.
